Super delicious food. We'd love to come back

A wonderful restaurant in a very beautiful old half-timbered house. Very friendly staff and incredibly good food. Also highly recommended for picking up the food, especially the game ragout tastes great! We will be there very often!

Saddle of veal, the most expensive dish, from the freezer, wonderfully cooked. Subterranean taste. Only the salad was good. Follow me for my reviews and recommendations.

We've been here twice now. The food is very tasty and the menu is rich with various Baden dishes. It is obviously still really freshly cooked here, so no onvenience food that just has to be warmed up. We were entertained by a friendly and attentive service and you can sit very comfortably in the small beer garden. This is the right address for everyone who appreciates home-style cooking in the Baden style.

Ettlingen is wonderful and this restaurant was our place to dine. We sat outside, nice atmosphere, welcome, delicious! The offer attracted asparagus :) Lovely and happy memories of this place

1 star as waiter serves the guests with a lit cigarette in hand. I have never seen such an incredible thing in any restaurant in the world.

This was a real treat! On a tour, we had one night to spend in Ettlinger and stopped in to this restaurant. It was fabulous! The service was very good, particularly for out of towners and non-German speakers--and the food was truly amazing. The atmosphere is also very cozy making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience all around.

Unfortunately we did not get to try the food today. Already at the table choice, we were literally yelled at by the rather young waiter: "There, just use the small tables". The service was absolutely not recommendable, as it looks, not only with us ...... Too bad it looked very comfortable. NEVER come back

Very good and down to earth restaurant with mostly German cuisine. We sat outside during our two visits. Comfortable and in a pleasant atmosphere. High quality food at reasonable prices. We did not have to wait long. The service was very attentive and friend. Overall, it was pleasant stays.

We were on 21.08 2019 in the restaurant. The welcome was very friendly but our food, Deer calabash Black Forest style, was not to cut and even less to eat. Totally tough. Demand at the cook showed that the game was shot fresh and the steak was cut from the top shell. Steak from the upper shell ??? ? Also a 2 steak was not much better. Very nice restaurant intended good food, but Hirschkalbsteak is not recommended Pity ?? , ,

Me and my wife both took fish, both of them still raw inside and dry outside. I think the cook just uses his microwave to cook the fish. Spinach was added and both my wife or me the spinach was not washed, because it was all grinding between our teeth of the sand. I thought it was a terrible experience and will definitely not be back !!

We really felt like eating there, waiting outside for a seat and on first request we were told it would not matter where we were sitting. So we waited until the guests were done and then sat down. Then we were very unfriendly to say the least stupid, it is reserved and we should sit at another table, this was from a previous rain shower still wet we were told that comes from cleaning. One can also inform his guests more friendly on events. That is not how it works.

Customer service was terrible. They denied that the food was not cooked through which it wasn’t. They were not clear about which tables we where allowed to eat at. Living in Germany and Switzerland this was disappointing from both waiters.

Good for non veg german food

In my opinion, one of the better restaurants in Ettlingen. If you want good food and like to do so in a very pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. The staff is always friendly and will be happy to advise you if necessary. Reservation is a must! You can try without it, but fail to get a place, especially on public holidays. We recommend!

Very cozy restaurant with friendly service. Possibility to sit outside in the front garden. It's tiny inside, and I figured it was pretty warm. Since I am a brewery, I only evaluate beer, which was nice. Of course, you can also order wine. The soup, main course and dessert were great for me.

Very nice place, the food is also very good and people are speaking english which could be useful :) Edit: I lower the note as my last visit was quite disappointing. The food was average with a terrible looking. I am not sure to go back there anymore.

It is a very cozy place, with good food and portions in my opinion quite good, despite having previously read that the portions were small.

Average, there are better places to eat in Ettlingen

This is one of the best restaurants in Deutschland. Reasonable prices. Make sure you try the soup, especially in the springtime, during Spargelzeit. They serve Hoepfner, which has one of the best heffeweizens ever made, and to top it off, right across the street is the coolest and most amazing ice cream shop. They are artists.
